Is instant messaging still a thing? I used to use trillian, but haven't really in probably 2 years.

Is there something new people use, or is instant messaging pretty much dead?

In Australia it is fairly well down to Facebook only.

Skype seems quite frequently used here (Sweden) as instant messaging, not just for calls.

I also use IRC ;)

I still use pidgin for instant messaging :)
Supports MSN (which is pretty much dead), XMPP (which means it supports Gmail & Facebook) and Skype (via a plugin).

I saw a headset that said it was compatible with AIM today.

Made me laugh.

I come here every other day or so. I have a quick link for here in my favorites bar, and this topic was the most recent, so I saw it from the front page.

Also I still believe that one day this place will suddenly turn into a place reminiscent of the heyday of the Sonique forums.

OK, I'm lying I don't believe that.

IM is still a thing, but you have to get an app and get behind their walled garden.
eg facebook, whatsapp, snapchat, kik, viber, etc
